January in North Florida: My Kind of Weather

While much of the rest of the US seems to be experiencing a deep freeze, here in North Florida the temperatures are almost balmy. It’s certainly the perfect time to enjoy wildlife sightings, and to spend time with the next generation. We found numerous Wood Storks and alligators, but probably the most important creature spotted was the huge water moccasin seen crossing from one pond to another. We were happy to be standing a good distance away.

  1. Have you seen that absolutely stonking great alligator that’s been doing the rounds on social media? It’s even made the UK press and been used in a political cartoon. It’s not something I’d be keen to encounter.
