Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park

To the south of Gainesville lies Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, a 21,000 acre area of grasslands and marsh, with some upland areas of hardwoods and pine. One of the most convenient spots for viewing prairie wildlife is the La Chua Trail entrance on the northeastern side of the park. Here’s a random assortment of photos taken over the course of the past year.
