At first glance, there doesn’t appear to be much in the way of wildlife at Sweetwater Wetlands Park on the edge of Paynes Prairie. Other than a few wading birds here and there, and some visitors walking along the boardwalk and paths, the place looks fairly deserted.

But walk around, carefully and quietly, and pay attention to movement, sounds, and the little details of nature, and soon you’ll see you’re really not as alone as you first thought.
